Born many years ago, Boy Cat & Bird are the creation of Detroit artist Michael Segal. Segal's amorphous postcard-based work (which number into the thousands) began in the 80's as an expression of his observations on life and culture around him.
Segal's LookGroup universe expanded with the display of his work at Neptune Records, and Boy, Cat & Bird would be handpicked to be official mascots of a new music and art company, when a then-future record label owner looked to find the perfect visual compliment for the music. Since then, Boy, Cat & Bird have taken on many shapes and forms, each as curious and perplexing as the last, but always with lots of heart. The future is never certain for these adventurers, only their change is promised.
